The Boa® technology initially emerged in the winter sports industry, with brands like K2 and Vans, popular among snowboarders, being the first to adopt the system. It enabled speed and ease of use in challenging conditions. The system was later utilized in the hospitality sector for orthoses and prostheses.

Recognizing the potential of this innovative technology, Elten introduced it to work boots, making it a popular choice among workers and the general public.

Understanding the Boa® Fit System

The core of the Boa® Fit System is a user-friendly mechanism. A quick twist of the micro-dial allows the laces to glide smoothly through low-friction guides, achieving a precise fit in seconds. Once set, the closure remains secure, eliminating issues like loosening, exposed laces, broken zippers, and knots. These common irritations are now a thing of the past.

Removal of work boots or shoes is equally straightforward. The system can be easily reopened by pulling the twist-lock with one hand. The Boa® Fit System's durability is also noteworthy, with laces comprising 49 fine stainless steel wires used in aviation.
